Met with a few members of the leadership in the department. All were very nice and asked questions about previous work experience. They also asked about travel as the job involves travel sometimes.

I interviewed in Tecsys from mid August to mid September 2025. Round 1: HR screening Round 2: Technical interview (Project Manager 1 and another technical resource) Round 3: Culture fit interview (Director and Project Manager 2) Round 4: Final sendoff and questions with VP All through these rounds, I was given the impression that I am the ideal candiate for them as I brought a lot of relevant experience and would be a good resource for them. After the final interview with VP, I followed up with HR after a week for an update, since I didn't hear back from them. Finally the response that I got from the HR was that the team liked you very much but there were some concerns; 1. The team didn't know where you would fit in the team dynamics as you mentioned leadership preference but this was a individual contributor role. 2. I think you mentioned development preference, whereas this role doesn't have development involved. I told the HR that I never mentioned any preference for leadership and when I applied for the role, I could understand that it was a individual contributor role. Also I never mentioned development as it is not my forte. And I told her that if this is regarding salary, I am totally flexible as I had mentioned earlier and this is coming from someone who has been out of work for more than a year. HR's response was okay, I will check with the panel about this and get back to you. I am still waiting for her to get back to me. :) What I understand from other reviews is that they don't want to pay so they prefer graduates and freshers. My last drawn salary was more than their offering, so they might have opted for a cheaper resource. Also ageism might have been a factor. My advice to Tecsys: Please don't waste your time and the candidate's time when you don't want to hire them in the first place. Keeping a candidate hanging in anticipation for a month through four rounds and then saying "you were great but we don't know where to fit you in the team" is just ridiculous. Also please provide genuine feedback to the HRs so they don't have to guess or provide vague reponses to the candidate.
