I got the impression that the company already had a candidate in mind when I was brought into the process. The initial call with HR was very brief and lacked warmth, which wasn’t the most encouraging start. During the interview with the hiring manager, she mentioned she hadn’t had time to review my resume due to her busy schedule, yet candidates are expected to come fully prepared with research on the company and role.
The position had been posted for about a month by the time I applied, but the experience felt more like they were fulfilling a formality or interview quota rather than genuinely considering new candidates. One of my responses even seemed to prompt the hiring manager to take notes that felt like they might be used elsewhere, which unfortunately seems to be a growing trend.
To their credit, I did receive a rejection email within two weeks, and the role was removed shortly after, suggesting they had already made a decision around the time of my interview. Overall, the process felt like a waste of time and lacked the professionalism and intention that candidates hope for.
