      Entrevista

      The same day that I applied online, I was contacted to schedule a phone interview (Phase 1). The phone interview was a few days later with 3 TELUS employees (HR, Director of the LDP program, etc.). I was asked a few questions about TELUS and what I knew about the company (strengths, opportunities for improvement). Then, there were a few standard behavioural question (Name a time you dealt with conflict). Afterwards, there was one technical question. Overall, the phone interview was about 25 minutes and a positive experience. It was a bit awkward with so many people listening in over the phone: it's hard to gauge when it's someone's turn to speak, since you can't see their face or body language. I was notified within 2 days that I had moved forward to the second phase, which would be an in-person interview. I was told that someone from the company would be contacting me within a week to schedule an interview, when in reality, I was contacted nearly 3 weeks later to schedule it! The time between my first and second interview was almost a month. The second interview consisted of a Case presentation (given 1 hour to prepare it and 30 minutes max. to present it to 2 interviewers), as well as a one-hour behavioural interview. Mostly typical questions, such as "Describe a time when you had to work with ambiguous instructions". They also require a reference and background check. Both interviewers seemed nice and friendly. The interview was difficult in the sense that it was challenging, but if you were well-prepared, it was straightforward. The only thing I didn't like was that the case was a bit long to be well-done in an hour. I guess that's the point, though! Another point: the interviews are very scripted- your interviewers are basically filling in a worksheet with your answers. It felt a bit impersonal (no "tell us about yourself", etc.) because of how prescribed the questions were.

      The interview process consisted of mainly three stages: Stage 1: Phone Interview (Mostly Behavioural Questions -Very Basic) Stage 2: Make a Youtube video about a pre-defined topic (Must be 5 min long) Stage 3: Panel Interview with Directors Very basic technical and behavioural questions asked. But be prepared for anything. I thought the interview went well, but I received a standard rejection letter yesterday.

      Had the first round phone interview with HR. Mostly screening of resume and cover letter. This was followed by lots of behavioural questions.

      Background screening interview. Half an hour. Experience interview. A few technical questions and a few behavior questions. I didn't have computer science background. If you have some programming background it should be very basic.
