      Entrevista

      Upon submitting my resume online, I received an email from an HR person at Swizznet who wanted to do a phone screening. I set the phone screening up for the next day. After the phone screening, I was told that Kristin Callan, the company CFO, would be contacting me via email to set up a time to do a phone interview. I received an email about two days later and scheduled a phone interview for a couple of days later. During the phone interview, Kristin told me a little about the company and made me think that there would be a lot of room to move up. She asked me a few questions about myself and asked me about a time when I had to multitask to get things done. The phone interview lasted roughly 15 minutes, and she said she would get back to me in a couple days to set up a virtual meeting. She finally contacted me and scheduled a time for us to meet. About a day before our scheduled meetup, I was offered a job with Amazon. I emailed her to let her know that I had been offered a great opportunity with Amazon, and that I wished to cancel our appointment. She then wrote me back telling me that she believed I would be a great match for the position and that she would love it if I would still consider meeting with her so she could provide me with the best offer. I thought that was very kind and flattering, so I decided to meet with her. After all, she seemed really interested in my skills and qualifications. The day we met, I was under the impression that she was just going to show me what I would be doing, and that I would be watching her work. It turns out that she walked me through the steps of transferring a document from a virtual drive to a local drive. She also showed me how they perform a backup, and she had me install the Citrix server and their cloud version of Quickbooks. The whole thing lasted 20 minutes maybe, and then she said she had a family emergency and had to go. She said she would let me know that evening or the next day if she wanted to offer me the job..... That caught me off guard because that is not what her previous email had stated. I received an email from her the next day stating that they decided to go with another candidate. Funny thing is, the job was reposted. Guess I dodged a bullet, because who wants to work for a dishonest company? Truthfully, the virtual meeting was a waste of time, and it was nothing like she said it was going to be. I'm honestly not sure why I didn't get the position, other than the fact that I informed her of my job offer from Amazon.
