I applied online and three weeks later received an email asking for a 30 minute phone screen. The interviewer was very disrespectful and condescending from the start. It was evident from the get go he had no intention of moving me forward and asked why I was applying to work for a dull and dreary institution like SunLife. Even though it’s a Senior Consultant role, they are apparently looking for an entry level candidate who will have a seat at the table. They are looking to pay between $90K - $110K which seemed below market rate. The interviewer said he considers more senior roles to be like a beauty parade. What an extremely archaic and demeaning thing to say to a candidate! I had to cut the interview short as it was evident that there was no alignment and the interviewer was just looking to go on a power trip and waste people’s time. I do hope SunLife offers some sensitivity training as this is a terrible first impression of the company and ruins the overall candidate experience.
