I applied online and received a telephone interview. The recruiter worked at Sun Life for less than 6 months in a contract position. She was the most unprofessional recruiter I've ever experienced. She asked me questions then would cut me off and spent more time talking about herself. She informed me that Sun Life is highly selective and takes months to fill a position. She was right. I didn't hear anything for about two months and when I did that same recruiter left me several urgent messages saying it was very important that she speak to me right away. When I got ahold of her she just told me that they were not moving me forward to the next stage. What was the urgency? It was a disappointing candidate experience. I am surprised that for such a senior position that has influence over organizational culture they would put a recruiter who has less than 6 months experience and admitted she found the environment challenging and a big learning curve. Bad candidate experience overall.
