My interview with the recruiter was awesome and I she was so helpful and answered my questions and was very encouraging. She gave me really good feedback and felt like I was a great candidate. The information about the position was not the same as when I had the interview with some of the supervisors on the care team. They talked to me like I was a child in discussing PTO, advancement, schedules, etc. When it was my turn at the end of the session to ask questions we were reaching time, and I got cut off the zoom without notice and no further contact from the company. It was very rude. The vibe in the second interview was very opposite of the vibe in my first interview and my feelings about the company overall. The second interview made me feel like I was a new clinician just out of gradschool back in my first job, when I am a seasoned professional. This company seems awesome in their mission but if these are the type of people I'd be leaving my current job for, you can have it!

First was a 30 minute phone call with a recruiter. Then three, about 45 minute-long, interviews over Zoom with two different program directors and an operations manager. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant. The recruiter was along for the entirety of the process and was extremely helpful in keeping interviews being scheduled quickly, keeping me updated on the process, and making me feel in the loop. They also send information and tip sheets on how to do well in interviews at the beginning of the process.

Don’t waste your time.
From submitting my application to the third interview was about a 3 month process. At this point I’m convinced the only reason this position requires a licensed therapist is to be able to pass on liability claims to the licensed individual rather than the company taking them on as the whole position seems very much focused on taking as many calls as possible and entering as much data into their system as possible rather than providing quality support.
The process:
The recruiter didn’t show up to our initial interview and rescheduled when I reached out to her. The third interview was rescheduled twice.
The first interview was a recruiter, the second was two therapists in the clinical care navigator position, the third was with a higher up clinical director.
The third interview was bizarre. It very much seemed like she was intentionally twisting everything I said to make me seem unqualified for the position.
The role requires a licensed therapist and she would ask me questions about my experience in crisis situations and when I answers based on clinical experience, she would reiterate to me that the position was not a therapy position, which I had made abundantly clear that I was well aware of. Information that should clearly be generalizable in regards to skills set was brushed off and my most relevant experience for a job that requires a medical license was a volunteer crisis line I worked on before I had a degree.
The whole interview felt very much like navigating a very strange trap.
I wasn’t surprised when I got an email the next day turning me down for the position.
Honestly I was a bit relieved after having read Glassdoor reviews of employment there and getting a small glimpse of the same toxic culture I encountered earlier in my career in the mental health field.
When I asked what it would look like to succeed in this position, I was told that getting efficient with the system and being able to take calls and complete admin tasks faster and faster is the metric they use to determine success in the role.
Not client centered at all.

Questions were basic “tell me about a time you disagreed with a way that a system was implemented, what you did about it, and what were the results? It seems like they’re trying to weed out anyone who aligns too strongly with a sense of ethics or has boundaries or work life balance in general.

My hiring process started out a little rough. The recruiter cancelled our prescreen via email right at the time it was scheduled. She said the position had closed. This is weird because I know now that Spring Health is working on expanding the Care Navigation team. So the position definitely wasn’t closed. Anyway, about a week later, a different recruiter reached out to me. She was friendly and organized. Within the following two weeks, I had a first and second interview and then an offer. The recruiter was responsive to email and called me multiple times throughout the process. Both of my interviews were straightforward, one with managers and one with a director.
