Me postulé a través de una recomendación de un empleado. El proceso tomó 2 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en Splunk (San Francisco, CA) en sept 2021
Entrevista
Worst Experience on getting the offer, extremely unprofessional and mostly all reviews here talk about the same issue.
Applied via referral. Got connected to recruiter and started the process.
Splunk Recruiters are really bad. 2 recruiter were in contact with me for the same role and when I progressed to the onsite - I was given a schedule. I had to repeatedly ask for the agenda/Focus areas at least 4 times and i only received it on the. day of the interview.
After the interview, I received a verbal offer from Splunk for a software engineer role at P3.-P4. The recruiter came up with very low number and I gave a few competing offers.
He increased the number from X TC without sign on to X+80K with competing for which I said I will think about the offer and requested a 1:1 conversation to the manager.
He calls me last week and downgrades it to X+30K. When I asked me why this drastic decrease he said he has 8 other candidates in pipeline. During the whole time, I have been extremely courteous and being respectful.
When I said I still want to talk to talk to the hiring manager, thank him and get some job responsibilities clarified - he said he will schedule one this week.
Finally this week I received a reject. They didn’t have the courteously to ask me for the final decision. They went back on the verbal decision.
The recruiter said he is also an angel investor and when I gave him the offer from one of the FAANG he actually asked me to take that offer. He said he believes the stock will grow faster than splunk. He said he only works for splunk as a contractor and doesn't really enjoy Splunk. This is the first time a recruiter has advocated me to not take up the offer. I literally wasted 2 months with the process.
This is such unprofessional behavior. No wonder they are losing so many folks. At no point did I ever raise my voice, ridicule him, make up numbers or treat anyone with disrespect. This makes me lose hope and even when I did nothing wrong.
I’m writing this message for this main reasons.
Splunk recruiters if you guys are seeing this message - it is time you start being professional. Why did you make a verbal offer if couldn’t honor it. Stop wasting our time. Every company has an initial recruiter call where they set the expectations. Also don’t go back on your verbal offers. Someday you too will come in the market.. I'm hoping someone from the Hiring committee will take this seriously and hold the person responsible for being so unprofessional.
Others: don’t trust splunk when they make a verbal offer. Even if the numbers do not work, accept the offer and later decline it when you get into other companies. You can read another person also had to go through the same experience.

Horrible. Rude. They were awful. Stay away. I never would recommend to even my worst enemy on this planet. What a terrible interviewer. Beware. They already picked someone. I am glad I dodged a bullet here.
