      Entrevista

      I initially applied for a different position, and had a typical phone screening with a recruiter. During that call, the recruiter mentioned that they thought my experience would be better suited for this role and scheduled a zoom call with a department manager. The department manager seemed pretty disengaged during the interview, seemed like they were just reading questions off a sheet and gave one word answers the entire time while I did 99% of the talking. After the call, I did not hear back for another two weeks. The response came in the form of an incredibly disingenuous email from the recruiter and not the hiring manager I spoke with. They noted that my application "got lost in the shuffle" as to why I did not receive a response sooner. They then noted that the team had decided to move forward with candidates whose experiences better suited the role, even though this is: A.) Not the role I applied for B.) A position that was selected for me by the recruiter based on my experience because they thought it matched the position better for the one I applied for. I feel as though I was put in a position for failure during the entire process because of this. To make matters worse, the rejection email stated that they were "unable to give me feedback" without any explanation as to why. If that is the case, why even mention it? The email was left closed ended with a note about "keeping an eye out for future positions"...I will most certainly not be doing so given this experience.
