Applied on Angel List.
First came phone screen. Standard stuff.
Then, in-person technical interview. I met with 4 developers for about 30 minutes each. I felt like very little was done to actually assess my skills. I was asked to talk about past projects and was given some code to analyze. No coding questions.
I was then called back in for another interview, where I met with 4 other non-tech employees including the CEO.
I then received a follow up email asking me to complete a coding exercise. I would have much preferred this to be the first step in the process instead of having to go into the office on two separate occasions before they even attempted to assess my qualifications. The coding test was rather time consuming and in my opinion asked too much.
Shoppable took two weeks to get back to me after I submitted the coding exercise. I don't think they even looked at the code at all. I was finally told after I had emailed them 3 or 4 times that I had not received an offer.
Summary: Slow process. Seemed disorganized. Asking for a coding exercise after a phone screen and two 2-hour in-person interviews felt very uncool and like a waste of my time. The people there were very nice though and all seemed to enjoy working with each other.
