      Entrevista

      I applied online initially through the Shopify website. The written, initial application process took me approx. 30 minutes to type out and fill completely. I found it reasonably difficult if you have no customer service or remote support experience, but for me it was straightforward and simple - the only time was actually writing out my answers in full. From there I was invited to a Skype interview, which was called a sort of "friend" interview. The HR person wanted to see if I was a good fit from a culture perspective, so I was asked questions about my youth, hobbies, etc. I was immediately told I'd passed this portion, and was asked if I had time for a 30 minute test of what it's like to be an actual Customer Success Guru. I said yes. Within about five minutes, I was connected to another staff member via Skype, but only with typing access. I was to perform as if I were in the position, and do the best I could with the (limited) information I had. They were testing to see how I dealt with pressure, time constraints, and how well I could search for answers on the fly. I could see how this portion would be very stressful for some folks. It was all timed, I had a lot to focus on, there was quite a bit of juggling, and I didn't know company policies and procedures. However, I was coached after each little "session" with what I could do, and if I implemented, I was congratulated. It was a great view of what the job's like, and it helped me decide if I wanted to move forward. Within a few days I was offered a position, and told that there might be a better fit for me in a different job - but none of those were available at the time, so would I be okay with the Customer Success Guru for now? I said yes. I ultimately did not work for Shopify due to a medical emergency, sadly.

      Multi stage process, roleplay "gauntlet" interview is final stage. They ask you to make a shopify store to prepare which means making a shopify account, dont think this is a fair ask for job interview as your giving up your data.

      1. Typing speed test 2. Video interview: life story interview 3. Technical test: I found quite intense. I had to do so many things at the same time that I got overwhelmed. I was so nervous before the test that I did not perform well. I did prepared myself as much as I could. Played around with my fake online store, read the FAQ page and much more.

      Entrevista

      Basically a fill in the blank scenario and then a phone interview. They really should do these over skype or Zoom, it's so difficult to have an interview without seeing someone. The person that interviewed me was in Zombie mode and had zero enthusiasm so it just seems like a waste of my time off the bat. As if she didn't even want to be talking to me. Really threw me off.
