Applied for two positions in this organization, thought it was a promising growing company sure to provide a great challenging experience. Received the voice call invitation for an interview. A very disinterested lady just gave the time and hung up. Late morning on a Saturday, no details on what role I was going to interview for. Since it was during the weekend, I thought I had nothing to lose trying it out. Got the location off Google Maps. Treacherous roads going into Syokimau, understandable. Good receptionist directed a few gentlemen and myself to the back office. Our CVs were collected and my turn came. The interviews were conducted by a single smug individual. A few normal questions (about yourself, why you, experience & background). He then asks about my communication skills, which I thought he could gauge himself. I didn't think it mattered though because he spoke Hindi with hints of English. He then asks if I can handle working from 6:30 am to 8:30 pm on weekdays, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm on Saturday and be on call every Sunday. Before I answer he points his subjects who he claims are hardworking and regularly pull in more than 14 hours(illegal) . I decline the offer even before knowing the remuneration package he's offering. Absolute waste of time traveling to Syokimau on my day off. He declines giving back my resume after asking my GPA just to compare to his. I hardly understand the heavy Gujarat accent and leave as fast as possible to salvage the rest of the day. Companies pushing desperate Indian immigrants to over 14 hours for low pay are highly unethical and unprofessional. I knew I couldn't possibly learn anything valuable to my profession under such conditions.
