The person just did not want me to succeed. He started asking me series of questions like from a question bank and when answered, the expectation was exactly the answer he wants leaving no room for discussion or nuance. If you ask, what is the linux process with pid 0, there's 1 answer but for the question "how would you improve a code?", there can be multiple approaches. The interviewer just did not want to listen, interrupts frequently and says things such as design pattern I am looking for is "factory pattern". One time while explaining about scaling a system, he again abruptly interrupts and asks do you even know what is CAP theorem? Ofcourse, I knew coming from plenty of engineering experience and I was trying to explain tradeoffs of my solution. Overall, this interviewer lacked the technical chops since he did not come from a CS background and left a bad taste and within 20 minutes, I did not want to continue considering I might be working in some capacity with such a person.
