There was a telephone interview followed by two in-person interviews with store management. I waited a few days between the telephone interview and first in-person interview. There was a three week gap between my first in-person interview and second interview. After the second interview, I waited a week and a half until I received an offer. Although it was lengthy, I was told right off the bat that I was too qualified for a Team Member position and that they would look at different places to place me as a Management employee.

I applied online, through Savers website, after seeing the job posting on Indeed. I was contacted a few days later to ask me some basic information about my resume and my experience. I was invited into the local Savers store for a first round interview with the Retail Sales Manager. After the interview she told me I would hear back in a few days, and she called me back 3 days later to set up a second interview with another manager. I returned to the same Savers location and interviewed with the other Retail Sales Manager who asked some basic interview questions as well as the same questions I was given a few days earlier during the first interview ( I think he was checking to see if I gave the same response or was making up information). He thanked me and told me I would hear back in a few days. 4 days later the first manager I spoke with called back to set up a third interview with the Store Manager, which was scheduled for later that day. The Store Manager asked me some very basic information and it was more of a casual conversation then an actual interview. We talked about my hobbies and interests, his hobbies, the Yankees, football, current events lasting about an hour. This interview was designed to make sure I was a "real" person and not someone who rehearsed interview responses as well as to gauge how well you can communicate naturally. The Store Manager set up another interview with the District Manager for a few days later right there before leaving his interview. The District Manager interview was essentially a review of how the other 3 managers rated me and he simply spoke with me about my experience and what I see for myself in the future, what can I bring to the company and how I would work to help the company continue to succeed. He offered me the job at the conclusion of the interview and after some negotiating on salary told me I was hired pending a background check and I would hear back in a few days. I started with the company the following week.

The interview is based on the STAR format. It helps to be up on current events because one stage of the interview was a casual conversation. They want to see how knowledgeable you are about what is going on in the world around you and that you are capable of holding a "real" conversation rather then simply a rehearsed interview . Also have knowledge about the company, what it stands for, what/who it benefits, and how each individual store benefits the community ( easily found by a quick Google search). It also helps to have a brief knowledge about the issues affecting the community that particular store serves.
