I applied as a PhD scientist, with 25-years’of semiconductor R&D, and HVM PE experiences, including greenfield fab startups and inserting new process technologies. I met with a 3-person panel of potential peers (or seniors) via on-line video. Their individual tech credentials were remarkably thin. I left with the impression that SMEs apparently left Austin with Sematech, and that the back-home K team will need to send many more skilled workers than they currently envision!
