      Entrevista

Two recruiters came to FSU during our engineering career day. I went to their information session and signed up for an interview. At first they seemed to only be interested if I thought I could handle this kind of job. They were sure to stress that it was not a 9 to 5 office job. A few weeks later I received an email inviting me to a second interview. I accepted, but didn't hear back until about a week before I was supposed to leave for Texas. That was when I found out my flight information, our schedule for the weekend, and my group members. One part of the interview process was to present a section of the company, such as Drilling and Measurement, Wireline Logging, or Well Services. Before we met in Texas each group and to put together a 3 to 5 minute presentation. We all arived in Fort Worth/Dallas Texas on Thursday and had to share a hotel room with someone of the same sex. At 7 PM that night we all met in the hotel's conference room. The two Schlumberger reps started off by trying to break the ice. All of us had to either sing our favorite song, dance our favorite dance, act out our favorite cartoon character, or share our most embarrassing moment. Then we watched lifestyle videos and finally got to give our group presentations. I think one of the points of the first night was to keep us up as late a possible because we didn't go to sleep until around 3 in the morning. The next morning we went on field visits and facility tours where we got to meet employees and ask them questions. Later when we got back to the hotel, we did a team building excercise where we were given two balloons, paper, tape, etc and a egg. We had to make something so the egg didn't break, but of course one balloon had a hole in it, stuff was taken away (to represent funding issues), group members were swapped around (because there are transfers in the real world). One team out of about 6 succeeded. Next we gave personal presentations where we told everyone where we were from, which section of the company we were interested in and why, and our Macgyver moment. Finally, we had 1:1 interviews with the recruiters. Again they asked straight up which section you wanted to work in and if you really wanted the job. I was told that I would basically have to go overseas for 3 years to do well services and that work took up 90+% of your time. I mentioned that I was engaged and didn't want to be away from my fiance for 3 years. They suggested another program where I only spend a year and a half in the field then get to work a 9-5 desk job. I said that that would interest me more and my interviewer said he would send my information to another recruiter. I never heard back. The interview process was fun. I got meet a lot of fun people. I didn't mention the dinner we had at PF Changs where everyone was taking shots of Patron and stuffing themselves with food! It was a great experience, but the Field Engineer job wasn't for me. I think that if I were single and wanted to make a lot of money the position would have been perfect!

1st round interview included short technical question, and telling about myself and the projects I worked on. Not difficult/or hard, but just need to explain well enough to tell the logic process

It was an on campus hiring. First they shortlisted based on CV. Then second round was group discussion where we were given abstract topics like "Half filled glass of water" and were asked to discuss. This was also an eliminatory round. The final round was more of a HR round, they asked behavioural questions, few puzzles (very easy) and general knowledge questions
