Horrendous, no care for candidates. I did over 2 hours worth of research on the company, the role and what would be expected of me, to be pushed aside, forced to wait and refused interview opportunity after they were half an hour late.
I was 5 mins late to the interview due to the poor signage around the building. I then got to the buzzer door and buzzed and waited patiently, after a few minutes I buzzed again and finally got a response and was left to wait at the door for a good amount of time. I was led upstairs to wait in the reception again for another 10 minutes, then they popped me in an interview room, and they made me wait AGAIN.
Finally the interviewer came in, without his partner, and told me they would not interview me today as i was now 35 minutes late. I tried to explain I was only a few minutes late and had the time of arrival on my uber app, and that the extremely poor signage had caused me to be confused and lost. I explained that I buzzed their door and waited and had been made to wait stupid lengths of time and they did not care. It seems to me that in the couple of minutes i was late, they had already made up their mind and chose to make me wait for longer periods of time so they could effectively push me away. I was maximum 5 minutes late.
The field does seem very male dominated, I had wondered whether it was because I was a female, or if perhaps it was because I had an early interview.
No other job has treated me so poorly, I left crying. Other jobs that I have interviewed for usually treat the interviewees like humans and look to resolve the issue, however they had no care in the world.
Looking at other reviews, it’s not just their interview process which requires further development, as empathy for employees seems to match. The incompetence demonstrated to me has allowed me to inform all my friends and family not to use this company as a customer, or potential employee. If you can treat potential candidates who have spent hours preparing, who arrive a few minutes late and apologise and explain, and then to be the reason why they were so late, and yet dismiss them like they are nothing? I would not want to see how this company treats clients or customers. Perhaps it’s because I have a degree in HR, I understand how you are meant to approach interviews. This is not it, and I really hope this does not reflect the way you treat customers. If it is, fix up. Candidates and clients are both customers to your brand.
Oh and what was even my wonderful is after they refused to interview me, on my way out they stopped me to specifically ask what my current job meant as they were ‘intrigued’. You either want to interview me or not. I’m glad my job intrigues you, perhaps my hours of work about the company to prepare for the interview would have been intriguing too if you gave me a fair chance.
