Tough but professional and thorough. They ask you detailed questions to check if you really are here to work or to mess around and sit around to rack up hours. It's an excellent environment for training. Only people with seriously attitude towards work will find it easy.

Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 2 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en SAPtech Europe (Manchester, Inglaterra) en feb 2017

      Entrevista

Applied for an office assistant position, about 2 months later I was called, but in the space of 2 months I had applied to a lot of jobs so I asked for a full description and what my day to day duties would entail, the answer was extremely vague and he wouldn't directly answer any of my questions so I didn't really get any details at all. I was asked to come in the next day for an interview - I accepted - out of sheer desperation for a job. For the sake of this review I will call it an interview - although it was more like an interrogation. The man who runs the company was very invasive during the interview process, asking a lot about my personal life, my partner and my family. It was very difficult to sit through and I felt like standing up and walking out so many times. He also asked, "what are 3 of your greatest weaknesses", as I was answering he stopped me and condescendingly said, "No, let me rephrase, tell me three things you DON'T like about yourself"... Erm OK? Weird... He asked all of the questions he wanted me to answer, then said if I got the job I was expected to start the next day. He then showed me out without letting me say a word - I still didn't know ANYTHING about the role. Fast forward an hour, I was called and told I got the job, to be in the Reception area for 9am the next morning and wait for someone to come downstairs. I got there at 8:30am, asked reception to let them know I was there and waited 50 minutes for someone to appear. Once in the office, there were only 2 other people who worked there (one of them he "let go" a week later because of relationship issues). I was asked to search and write 20 facts about SAP, so I did. We went over them, that's fine, I now know what SAP is, but what is my job role? For the first 4 days I was just asked to "bookmark" potential contacts on a social networking site. That's all... I still don't know what this company actually do? Here's the fun bit, I was given a script and asked to call a long list of consultants, who are German. So I called.. And called.. And called.. And called. No one answers, and those who do answer ask not to be called again. I WAS A HEAD HUNTER. AND AT THAT, HE FAILED TO MENTION IT WAS AN APPRENTICE POSITION SO I WAS ONLY BEING PAID £3.30 P/H. I had to practically beg for a contract, when I asked for one day off at the end of the month I was told, "technically, you're not entitled to any because you're an Apprentice on probation".. Erm yes I am? It's a statutory right, but apparently, "the company can put a clause in a contact to take away statutory rights".. Um no, the company can't. It's the law. So fast forward a week, I was having a bad day. No one was picking up, I had called through 3 lists twice. I was getting irritated, I didn't sign up for this. Long story short, the boss took me outside we exchanged words, said he didn't want to let me go as that means he will lose 25% of his team, so we needed to think about it and talk in a few days. He then told me to go home, and have the next day (Friday) off too if I needed it. So I went home, I texted the next morning to ask if he wanted me to come in, his exact response was, “We will speak on Monday as agreed. Cheers and have some rest". So on Monday I go to work, I thought it would be best to go in and speak with him that way. I'm given a list to call by a colleague - like normal - he comes in and tells me to put on my coat and grab my things. We went outside and he said, "you coming in today was a complete lack of respect for my authority". He then continues to tell me he has wasted his time by putting time into me, and he needs to think what is best for his company, and technically I wasn't even allowed in the building so I was sent home - bearing in mind there was heavy rain that day and I hadnt been paid yet, so I couldn't afford travel - had to walk over an hour home. I messaged him a few times asking what the verdict was and for my P45/payslip but he hasn't contacted me since. DON'T WORK FOR THIS COMPANY.
