Online interviews for an in-person role in San Mateo, California. 3 interviews total. One interviewer did not show up, happily rescheduled for the next week. The new interviewer spoke Mandarin and knew very little English and worked in China for LuoBu. Had to converse via Google translate. I don't know how to speak Mandarin.

*The job title is in the general area of design; I'm avoiding specifics to maintain more anonymity* Roblox's famously long interview process is, in fact, very long. My process ended up being 6+ months because I received a rejection, then was brought back in. So it was long but I also felt it was fair and communication was quite solid throughout. Recruiting really stood out throughout the process. My recruiter carefully briefed me about every upcoming interview, thoughtfully answered my questions, and was a terrific resource about the company. At an in-person event, I met my recruiter's manager, who also deeply impressed me with his professionalism and warmth. They both gave me a great impression of the culture. I did a 5 hour interview loop, including a portfolio presentation and one on ones. I also informally chatted with the team at the in-person event, and another one on one was added to the loop. About a month later, I heard I wasn't going to get an offer, but a month after that, I heard I was back in the running. Several more one on ones with a variety of leaders within and outside of design followed.
