Two managers follow a list of written questions, taking turns, and writing down the highlights of applicants answers.It was formulaic and, honestly, kind of amateurish, but it got the job done, and gathered the information the management team will need to make a decision. They were hiring internally only for these positions, as is often the case. It can be helpful to get any job with REI, even if it isn't your dream job, so you have access to internal job ads. They had 7 applicants for 5 available sales lead positions, so the bar was not that high to get an offer. I just had to be better than the two worst candidates.

It was a pretty easy I’m person interview with 2 managers. It was about 30 minutes long and they asked a few questions. It was mostly basic leadership and customer service questions.
Laid back and thorough. Started with recorded video interview before setting up an in person interview. Questions were average and interview time was fairly short. Felt as though I was able to say what was needed

When is a time you had to deliver a difficult message to a coworker?
Was set up as a group interview, but was very thorough, and I enjoyed real-life scenarios that were posed for us to work through as a group. Not always a fan of group interviews but was handled effectively.
