I received a call for an interview and was asked to come up for a meeting the next day at 6pm. I told the HR that 6 won't be possible and she fixed it for 6.30pm.
On the interview day at 4.30pm, I start getting calls, when I am in middle of a meeting at work. I get to know that the interview has been preponed to 5PM! I denied and then she asked me to reach asap.
My question is, how did this happen when I already clearly communicated about my prior engagements at work?
I managed to reach their office at around 6pm & met the hiring manager. We spoke literally for 2 mins just about my experience and she asked me to wait. After some time, I was told that although my experience was relevant, they are looking for someone with a higher experience. Now, why did they even shortlist me? Did they even have a look at my resume before scheduling the interview?
We manage to leave midday from work and also travel long distances for interviews. This isn't a problem but the issue is not getting an opportunity to prove ourselves inspite of all the efforts, time and money.
Be aware! The attitude and behavior of the management of any company also reflects in their hiring process.
P.S.: I am glad I didn't crack this.
