Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 2 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en RBC (Toronto, ON) en sept 2025
Entrevista
The application part was the chillest. I was pretty desperate for a job at the time, so I applied for everything. Makes sense why I'd get through this phase.
The OA wasn't hard, but it also wasn't super easy. Typical "Two are easy and two are tough". I was able to get 3/4 of the questions right. I'll skip the easy ones and talk about the hard one I remember. Went something along the lines of "It takes 20 minutes to create a product. Schematics are coming at random intervals. The queue can be max size of 4. Given an input of times when schematics arrive, how many products are created from schematics?" So if 10 schematics came all at the same time, the first schematic would start processing while the 4 ones after that would stay in queue, but we'd dump the next 5(which means they're never processed or put in line). This is pretty similar to my experience in chinese restaurants. How long people are willing to wait for a table to clear up and to be called before they decide it's not worth it and leave, but that's time dependant rather than queue-size dependant. Some correlation but different problems.
I think the biggest L was the attitude or vibes of the interviewers during the actual interview phase. They kind of seemed tired or dead inside. They didn't smile once. I also do recognize that my answers were subpar since this was one of the earlier interviews I did, so I wasn't as confident and stuff.
When I put down that I didn't get an offer, I don't actually know whether I got an offer or not. I accepted an offer from a different company much sooner than they could even respond to me. They said they'd contact my school to propose a co-op contract IF they decided I was a fit for the team. And that means I'll never know if they proposed since accepting another job offer blocks that.
Overall, I'd say the application and OA were okay, while the interview was meh. Meh solely based on the vibes they gave off. If they were less tired, probably would make me feel good at least. Seemed more like they just wanted to get it over with the moment the interview started.
