I was contacted by a recruiter for a tax staff position with this firm. The overall process consisted of 2 interviews, with the second involving a lunch with some of the team members.
The first interview was with 2 partners. In this interview I found out what the firm did, how they worked, what they were looking for, etc. and discussed my background and what I wanted. The standard interview. It lasted about 45 minutes and within about 30 minutes I received a call from the recruiter saying they wanted me back for a 2nd interview with lunch.
The second interview happened a week later. I first met with a partner and a manager. As I had not previously met with these individual, they had me again go through my history and what I was looking for. They told me what they were expecting from the individual. This went for about 30 minutes. After this was finished, I went to lunch with some of the staff and they told me about the firm from a “staff perspective.” Lunch went for about an hour and everyone was very friendly. Later I got a call from the recruiter saying they were extending an offer at the rate I was requesting so I took the job.
Overall a laid back process and I didn’t feel like I had to jump through hoops.
