had a couple of calls and email exchange about position, discussion of my expertise. then the recruiter insisted on obtaining AND talking to the references before submitting application to client. it was my mistake for passing on contact info of my references before receiving job offer. the recruiter contacted the references and grilled them a lot about not just me and my work, but THEIR work history, behavioral type, and qualitifications/ position details. it's not relevant to the application nor is it professional! seems like they just wanted to reach other contacts through me and my references didn't appreciate these invasive questions. then the recruiter finally submitted my application, and i didn't get any response from the hiring manger. all of this long process and headache just to get no response from manager? then i emailed back the recruiter about the status of another position i was interested in within their company (given they already have my references), but no response. i called him and tried to reach out once again, but it's as if he fell off of the face of the earth. c'mon. after calling me 4-5 times a day continuously for 3 weeks and making my references go through so much, at least have the decency to email back about the status! highly unprofessional and intrusive behavior.
