I applied on a Monday night and their Technical Recruiter immediately contacted me the following morning to do an email questionnaire screening. Upon submission, she immediately asked an additional follow up question and once I successfully answered that, we scheduled a phone screening for later that afternoon. We agreed upon a time, and I called promptly. We discussed what I knew about the company, my aspirations, my experience with Office 365 and system administration, and my role at my current job. I would say the recruiter spent more time selling the benefits of the job to me than asking me questions. At the end, she mentioned I was a very good candidate and my salary requirements were fair. She said she needed to get feedback from her supervisor and I should hear something in 4-5 days. I followed up on the fourth day to again thank her for her time and see if she had gotten feedback. I received the cookie-cutter "Thank you for your time, but we are going with a candidate more aligned with the job" response. Considering how enthusiastic and specific this IT recruiter was the prior week regarding my skill set and experience, before and after the screening call, this came as somewhat of a surprise to me and came off as very deceptive and unprofessional on their part.
