My hiring manager was absolutely delightful to chat with and my recruiter was wonderfully friendly and personable. My gripe comes for the recruiter follow-up.
A few weeks (weeks!) after the first-round video chat with the hiring manager, the recruiter left me a voicemail asking me to call him back because he wanted to talk about up-leveling the role for me. I called him back during what sounded like one of his jog breaks. On the phone, we agreed that he would call me back the next day at a designated time. The next day, nothing. I texted him with a reminder of the agreed-upon time we spoke about, and with a list of my availability for a do-over. Over a week later, the recruiter texted me back saying he'd left me a voicemail a few weeks ago to call him back, and what was my availability. I texted back with a reminder that the person who called him while he was jogging was me, and with a new list of availability for the next two weeks.
That was the last I heard from Pinterest. I understand losing track of your candidates due to the high volume; I still expected better documentation of outreach and next steps. Pinterest is a top tech company, after -- what are they doing ghosting candidates who are still actively in the pipeline?
