I received an email a few days after I applied that said I was shortlisted based on my qualifications and asking if I would like to hear more about the position. I said I would but I didn't hear back for over a week until I sent another email stating I was interested in the position. I completed a questionnaire and a typing test. About 1.5 weeks later, I received an email asking to set up a phone interview. On the day of the interview, I did not receive a call at the scheduled time. After 30 minutes of no response, I sent an email to the interviewer asking if we should reschedule. She calls me about 15 minutes later. The interview starts with her providing information about the position. Once she mentions the salary of $11-15/hour, I ask if she would be willing to start at $18/hour given that I have 3 years of scribe experience. Note that the salary range was NOT mentioned in the ad. When she said that the hiring managers likely would not start me at my desired rate, despite having more experience, I told her the rate was too low and thanked her for her time. Notes to management: 1) Put the salary in the job posting 2) Pay should be based on experience - for example, $11-15/hour would be OK for a college student but not a working professional who has been a scribe for three years. Most scribes don't work that long.
