Interview questions were straight forward: Why do you want to work in publishing? Why publicity? As a publicity assistant, you make pitch letters and press releases. Give an example of a time you similarly had to write/communicate persuasive materials. Why should we hire you / what distinguishes you? What do you know about our imprint/ our catalogue? What do you like about our books? Tell me more about -this part of your resume- Highly recommend doing your research - mention specific books from the catalogue/books that will be coming out soon. Always relate your relevant experiences and why they helped prepare you for this position. Emphasize that you love working with books/are passionate.

First, you have a phone call with HR to figure out things like availability, whether or not you can work in the US, what the role consists of, and when you can start working. After that, you have a call with the person who will most likely be your supervisor if you get the job.
