      Entrevista

Their interview process was a bit unorthodox and to be honest, in retrospect gave me some red flags. They asked for me to submit a video recording in lieu of a traditional one-on-one interview, with the explanation that it gives everyone a 'fair shot' to 'wow them' and speeds up their process. Truthfully, I spent a lot of time on this recording - carefully thinking about my answers to questions and recording everything, stitching it together for submission. I probably spent half a day working on it (much longer than a traditional interview prep - my mistake, lesson learned) and was excited to hear back. In their own words, they claimed "It’s our policy to respond to all applicants – it’s the least we can do after you took the time out of your day to express interest in joining our team. So, you’ll hear from us no matter what. ", which after spending all this time on an interview, I respected & was relieved to see. I submitted by video interview by the deadline requested, and gave them a few days. No response. A week goes by, I followed up, no response. Gave them a few more days, followed up again, never heard back. I wondered whether they even received my email, maybe the recruiter was no longer working for them or somehow my email got lost. I even went to lengths of calling their office to see if I could speak to a human, just in case. Unfortunately that also led me to a robot phone tree dead end which was pretty defeating. The fact that they couldn't be bothered to spend 30 minutes of their day to speak directly with candidates, but expect candidates in turn to spend their own time to film, thoughtfully answer questions, and edit a video to 'wow' them (their own words) is pretty insulting. At first glance, the organization seemed great from the outside looking in, so I was really excited about the opportunity. But this experience didn't feel aligned with the values they claim to preach of integrity and the image of personal touch they seemed to portray, and overall left me feeling they were pretty disingenuous, and lack respect for their applicants.
