very thorough, just to make sure you are 100% right for the job. longest part of the hiring process was me putting off the maths/english tests. the english text is pretty easy: “here is a block of info” -question about info you just read- e.g: “london underground took 40million to build” question: london underground took exactly 41million to build • definitely true • probably true • insufficient information • probably false • definitely false super easy, the maths??? i honestly don’t know how i passed 1st time it’s percentage increase and ratio, so make sure to brush up on them! start off the process with an on the phone interview, then they move onto a skype interview, if successful they will send you the assessment & invite to discovery day which was pretty intimidating for me cause i’m kinda shy. the discovery day is a couple hours (like 9am-12pm) and you will put your research and knowledge out there & show what you know! you will be on zoom with like 30 other people and people who work at octopus & everyone shares ideas and then you get a q&a, and to finish off, a 1-1 interview where you can let yourself shine if you were a little shy during the day. if successful they will invite you to the office for a sit down interview and this is the easy part, i know it’s nerve wracking but this is the part where you sell yourself and no body can do that better than yourself, so make sure to show off that funny side and personality!
