Me postulé a través de un reclutador. Acudí a una entrevista en OCBC (Singapur) en sept 2025
Entrevista
I recently completed the interview process for the software engineer position at OCBC. The interviewers I spoke with were professional and engaging, and the conversations about the role were insightful.
However, I was extremely disappointed with the final outcome regarding compensation. I was transparent about my current compensation from the very beginning. Despite this, the Talent Acquisition team proceeded with multiple interview rounds, which required me to take personal leave from my current job.
At the offer stage, I was presented with a salary that was significantly lower than my current package. This was surprising and frustrating, as it rendered the entire process a waste of time for me. For a candidate, an interview is a significant investment of time and effort, and it is reasonable to expect that a company aware of your salary expectations would not proceed if they cannot meet them.
My feedback to OCBC's Talent Acquisition team is to implement more rigorous salary screening upfront. Respecting a candidate's time is a fundamental part of a positive candidate experience. I cannot recommend this process to others unless this issue is addressed.
It was a relatively easy experience with HR to onboard. Interview was not too difficult and mostly related to the job requirements and knowledge required to do the work. There might be multiple rounds.
normal interview process with hr officer / recruiter and users in one go. Interview done via microsoft teams on office hour. The question from hr is basic questions. From user, technical and experience related questions.
