Everything went well, until the final interview. I answered every question they had correctly. Explained to them that the system i am on does not have my analysis tools on, it was a windows work machine and we can't do analysis on those machines, we use our Linux boxes for this. I was given a basic string to decode, very simple, but i wasn't able to decode it due to the fact that i was not on the machine that has my analysis tools on. So I had to scramble and find online tools that didn't work for the analysis. Was told everything was fine and never heard back from them again. It didn't matter how thorough I answered every other question in both interviews. What mattered was decoding this string on a system that I explained we don't do analysis on. Was able to verbally describe a decoding process i could do with the lack of tools, but it didn't matter.
