The interview process was relatively straight forward and overall fine until I progressed in the process and went into an interview with two gentlemen who asked what I liked to do for fun in which I responded that I loved the Hurricanes/hockey and they followed up with asking me what "icing" was, which would never be a follow up question had a man mentioned he liked hockey. This interview was maybe my 2nd one out of college and I just laughed it off at the time but now that I have progressed in my career overall, I always look back on that interview as a disgusting representation of the work culture at some companies.

I connected with Netsertive through a recruiter, and our initial conversation was very positive, as my background aligned well with the role they were hiring for. The next step was an interview with the hiring manager, who was friendly and asked straightforward questions. However, as we discussed the role in more depth, it became clear that they were looking for a hybrid position that combined multiple disciplines—Account Management, Project Management, Data Analysis, SEO, and Creative Direction—each requiring a high level of expertise. I have extensive experience in project management, advertising, client relationships, data analytics, and paid placement, so I was a strong fit for most of their needs. However, I am not an SEO expert, which ultimately led to them passing on my application. While I appreciated the team and the company’s culture, the scope of the role seemed to encompass the responsibilities of multiple jobs in one. That said, they offer competitive benefits, and they seem like a great company to work for if the right fit is found.
