They use an online interview service and don’t meet with candidates directly. You must record yourself answering questions, and you cannot know the questions ahead of time. Each question has different rules about whether it can be re-recorded, so watch out. It was time-consuming, confusing, impersonal, and unpleasant. Since you are not actually meeting any staff, you do not have the opportunity to ask questions.
I made it to the next round and was then asked to edit a blog post, devise a list of questions that I would ask to create a case study, and finally to create copy and graphics for social media posts, a flyer, and a landing for an upcoming NMSI Pi Day event. This took more than 8 hours total. It was an absurd amount of work, and I was given a little less than week to complete it. I was granted an extension when I asked for one.
A week after I submitted my work, I was informed that I would not be asked to participate in the next round of the process. On Pi Day, I saw that they used my tag line for their event.
The process was cold, discriminatory, and ultimately extremely unethical.
