I applied and received and invite for a phone screen 2 weeks later. The phone screen was with a recruiter who admitted they didn’t know much about the role and asked a few questions provided by the hiring manager. I did not receive a decision either way within the window the recruiter provided. I followed up after this time and still have heard nothing. I expected a higher level of professionalism from NPR.

Tell me about yourself? Why are you looking to leave your current role? Why NPR?

Had a screening interview. Felt pretty standard as far as format and questions. They were fair in communication: applied, received interview request within 2 weeks. Had interview, received update within 1 week. While the outcome was not what I wished for, I appreciate that their communication was fair and timely. I also wish I had an interview with someone who had more knowledge about the specific position rather than just an individual from talent acquisition who didn't have much more knowledge about the job itself.
