Phone interview first with a couple of folks. Went very well. Was immediately asked to come in a few days later for a visit/face-to-face interview. That also went very well. Got to meet my potential co-worker as well and talk 1-on-1 with him. They called about 2 hours after the in-person interview and offered for us to continue moving forward, initiating the background check and reference check. Both checks were passed, though the process terminated from there. NIH kept me up-to-date with all information regarding the status of the job throughout the process, and what the next step would be. Despite not working out, it was an overall very positive experience. Every person I met was extremely kind and welcoming. NOTE: I was offered the position, though it unfortunately fell through due in part to the third-party contracting service. It was to be a temporary/contracting job.
