I applied for an internship position in the 3rd week of December. Two weeks later I received an email from the "Mozilla Hiring Team" inviting me to take a programming challenge on HackerRank. The email was very generic and didn't include a lot of specific information. I was unable to take the test immediately due to an injury, so I responded to the email asking for clarification on whether I could delay the test by a week or two.
I didn't receive a response to my email, so I waited until I had recovered and took the test approximately 10 days later. The test was two hours long, and included two text-answer questions and three coding questions. I was unable to complete the final question within the allotted time, as I ran into a small bug that required some code restructuring. I found the test to be quite long -- 2 hours in length -- and 2 hours of intense coding without any breaks is quite tiring.
Here it is, a month later, and I have still not formally been rejected and am still considered to be "In Process." I sent another email approximately a week ago to follow up, but have still heard nothing regarding the position. I assume at this point I did not make it to the next round, though would have expected some contact within a week or two of completing the coding challenge.
As I was never contacted by a specific person, and the initial email with the invitation was basically anonymous, it very much feels like I slipped through the cracks during this interview process. At this point, I do not know whom I would even need to contact to follow up.
