Straightforward interview process overall. Initial recruiter screen, very basic technical assessment focused primarily on JavaScript, then an interview with the hiring manager. No real surprises or difficult questions throughout. Ultimately they decided to pursue other candidates with very specific/narrow experience in their space. It was particularly irritating that the hiring manager kept referencing their lack of experience in the space prior to joining the company (having come from a civil engineering background) while also downplaying the importance of industry-specific experience -- and to then hear they were pursuing other candidates with more industry-specific experience.
