Miro is a promising company, they are cautious about who they are hiring, which I think is good. I went through four stages of the interview and got rejected. I still like the company but I felt a bit frustrated with their interview process. I want to share my experience here, the suggestions for both interviewees and Miro.
Advice for candidates:
1. Be prepared for a lengthy interview process. As I mentioned, they are careful about the talents, so it takes time to make decisions and move on each round.
2. For designers, be prepared for a big case study about Miro's current problems, which will happen in the interview's early stage.
3. Remember to follow-up with the recruiter. The interview process was a bit confusing. They asked me about my available times, I answered and received no response. I needed to follow-up a couple of times to schedule the meeting.
Suggestion for Miro:
1. I would suggest you not using the current Miro's problem as the case study. This is unethical to ask all candidates to spend time on this. The case study can be a fictional problem or past problems, focusing on design thinking and problem-solving skills.
2. A proper training for all interviewers. The team interview I had was awkward, it seems that they didn't really know what to ask and were disengaged in the conversation.
3. Continue to be transparent. I received a call from HR about all the feedback. I really appreciate that!
Terrible interview process. Way too many rounds. They kept cancelling and rescheduling, so many times it made me want to pull out of the process. They had no respect for my time. I found the 7/8 round interview process way to much and a huge investment when you don’t get offered the job. The tasks for the interview were antiquated and not worth your time.

In brief, I had a ghosting experience with this company. I managed to progress to the second stage of interviews, which were generally okay, although the recruiter seemed a bit short-tempered when I asked for more information. However, the more detailed second interview concluded with the promise of getting back to me within the next 10 days or so, only for them to vanish without a trace. Even a courteous and brief email I sent to the recruiter, seeking confirmation on the status of the process, went unanswered. Speaking with another designer who went through the same ordeal, it appears that this is a recurring issue with this company. To the recruiter, I've noticed your active presence on various social platforms. I believe that redirecting some of the energy you devote to sharing "insights" about the recruiting process toward improving the recruitment process itself and treating potential candidates with fairness would be a valuable step forward.
