Let me start off with being upfront: my interviewer was aggressive, rude, and condescending. Most of the interview comprised of discussing my prior and current job experience; however, the actual position was barely discussed. The interview was scheduled for 45 minutes and right when it was supposed to end, is when I was finally able to ask questions. Although it was obvious that I was not a good fit for the team, there’s no reason to ask for personal opinions unrelated to the job and come at me with a berating attitude. I was extremely uncomfortable the entire interview. Any answer I provided did not seem good enough and it was constant elaboration on the same topic over and over.
Worst of all, 3 weeks have passed and I have not heard a single thing from the recruiter- essentially, I was ghosted. Objectively, this is unprofessional. I have interviewed at several companies, many much larger than this one, and at least every recruiter had the decency to follow up and communicate whether I was selected or not. As a recruiter, this is the bare minimum of respect you can show for a candidate’s time. It seems like they have issues with ghosting, as seen in a recent interview post.
Ultimately, I dodged a bullet. If I already had a terrible experience interviewing, there was no way I would enjoy being part of the team. I have never had an experience like this EVER. Do not even waste your time or you will be met with inappropriate behavior and unprofessionalism.
