Initial call from a recruiter who reached out to me on LinkedIn before the role was advertised widely.
Second call was with the team - the line manager and a peer.
Unfortunately, communication issues and a number of red flags during the call meant that I chose to withdraw from the process.
For example the peer repeatedly asked me to open software to share work live on the call - I have never been asked this before and explained that I can't share work due to NDA. I offered to share portfolio pieces later but they asked again, unbelievable!
Also another serious red flag was asking about high end technical questions regarding LMS admin - to be clear this is not in the job description and it rarely is for an ID. It sounded like they were looking for help with a current issue rather than interviewing me.
Both interviewers were disengaged and seemed disinterested during the interview. I think they already chose the candidates they preferred to move on with despite my background - 2yrs on a very similar project and role for a very similar organisation that is larger than LinkedIn.
I would advise to apply anyway and see for yourself if you can work with the team members you meet. Perhaps I was just unlucky!
