Phone screen followed by on-site. Though this was a data scientist position, the technical parts of the interview were software engineering questions. It's like they said, "We know how to interview software engineers, let's just use that for interviewing data scientists", ignoring the fact that the functions and skillsets are vastly different between the two roles. This tells me that they do not understand what data scientists do. I rejected them immediately after (without hearing back on their decision).
