      Entrevista

      I interviewed with Legacy Service Partners for an Executive Assistant role, initially excited about the opportunity. However, during my first interview, with one of the C-Suite individuals this role would be supporting, I was taken aback by the interviewer's behavior. Having previously supported different personality types, I can handle direct feedback, but what I encountered was not direct; it was unprofessionally rude. Instead of a constructive and respectful conversation, this individual made demeaning comments about my resume, particularly focusing on past employment gaps due to personal responsibilities, including raising a child and caring for an elderly family member which was over seven years ago, as well as a layoff in 2020 and brief gap during the COVID-19 pandemic, which affected countless professionals, including me. Despite my attempts to explain these gaps and provide context, the interviewer continued to be dismissive and rude, even asserting that I was wrong about the job market conditions in my location at the time. This lack of understanding and empathy was really surprising. Following the call, I decided to withdraw my application. Interestingly, the hiring manager coincidentally canceled my remaining interviews, citing meeting conflicts. This interview has shown me that I wouldn't be a good fit for a company that treats candidates this way. I encourage other candidates to consider their values and expectations when engaging with this organization. Know your worth there are plenty of other companies that will. And remember, miserable people breed miserable working environments I hope Legacy Service Partners takes this feedback seriously and reviews their interview process to ensure all candidates are treated with respect and professionalism. No one should endure such a demeaning experience during a job interview.
