Process: Phone call from HR. Conversation with HR Manager for 25 minutes. Invitation to meet at their Tustin office. Meeting with Owner + HR Manager. Before the interview, I researched online about the company, and saw ONE STAR EVERYWHERE. I have never seen such bad grades for a company. Like most candidates, we take those reviews with a grain of salt and move forward. Now I see why. After my meeting, I can confirm the negative reviews and add one more! Interviews are used to find out about candidates, their background and areas of expertise, and other things about them that's not on paper. This owner used the interview as a presentation session -- he spoke 90% of the time. The few times I interjected with ideas of how I would increase the customer base, he shot it down. This shows that he needs affirmation and is unbending, confirming all the other reviews about ego, lack of empathy, not open minded, etc. Lastly, I question the need for salespeople to "report" into the office daily. Account management of clients who are 80% out of state means they're done by phone. And professionals like me have a complete & fully functioning home office that's bigger than his conference room. They're paying COMMISSION ONLY for the position without other expense perks, so anyone living outside the 10-m radius will lose time and money unnecessarily.... This tells me that Presence is more important to them than Performance.
