I’m so glad I didn’t move forward with the interview process. I went through 3 rounds, 2 of which were a “simulation” acting out a real life client facing interaction. After a few weeks of no response from them they emailed to tell me I wouldn’t be moving forward. The feeling was mutual.
The simulation was fine. What I did not enjoy was getting on a call with the founder and not being asked any questions about my experience and also not being given the opportunity to ask her any questions about the company. It was all about the stimulation.
Additionally,, I was told straight up that there is no work life balance and that the hours are 9-7. That is insane in this day and age.
If you live to work, then this company may be for you. But if you’re a normal person who values genuine human connection and work-life balance, look elsewhere.

I applied online due to having direct experience & being a good fit for the role. I was immediately contacted by the founder and was told to send a loom video talking about myself. I didn’t have a loom account so I still made one and sent it, although I found it somewhat backwards from what other companies would ask for. They also asked for me to complete a predictive index, which I did. After, I met with the founder and thought that interview went well. Then, I was assigned a client simulation exercise where I was told to create a presentation and that I would have the opportunity to present my ideas. Mind you, I have a full time job and still completed this in a timely manner and asked questions (that I did not receive any answers to) - I then sent my presentation to the next interviewer and still did not hear anything. This made me follow up with the founder who tagged the interviewer again. I also asked for feedback when they rejected me and of course, did not receive a response. I get that the startup world moves in a different way/pace. However, it’s not an excuse to lead candidates on in the process and be unprofessional in how you handle interviews. I submitted my presentation and did not hear anything until 3 days later. I asked both interviewers for feedback just to receive no response. For a startup that is unknown, the interview process is very different, unorganized & similar to that of a large corporation that merits a lengthy process. If you’re looking to grow, focus on the candidates background and who they are as a person. Simulated exercises that you don’t even give the opportunity to present on doesn’t prove anything.

Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 5 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Landed (CA)
Entrevista
Day 1: emailed resume to LANDED and intro
Same day: CEO requested 3 minute video introducing video of myself
Day 3: interview with CEO
Over the next ~5 weeks I had serval conversations with recruiter, CEO, and few other employees.
Overall it was a positive experience, and seems like a great place to work.
Eventually they told me they filled the role.
Wish all companies were as responsive as LANDED. Really appreciated how quickly they moved. CEO very hands on.
