      Solicitud

Me postulé a través de una recomendación de un empleado. El proceso tomó 2 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en Kiwi Collection (Vancouver, BC) en nov 2017

      Entrevista

My interviews were with the upper management because the company doesn't have HR. I had my first interview over the phone when we discussed my background, salary expectations, etc. Second and third interviews were in the office management and rest of the team. After 2 months of interviews and lots of back and forth with them, they called me and offered me the position. Again then, we discussed my salary expectations (which was never a problem) starting date, etc. I asked if the offer was firm so I could hand my resignation letter to my employer and they said "YES". they even mentioned the offer was firm but they were retyping the contract. The only reason why they couldn't send me an offer via email at that moment was because this person I talked to was attending a conference and she/he had to retype the contract him/herself (No HR at KIWI) Then 2 days after, I get an 2 lines' email from the same person, taking the offer back due to "circumstances" . After my shock, since I had already resigned. I emailed twice and try to contact them several times to get a proper explanation, but they never responded to my emails and/or returned my calls. THEN when I tried to apply for unemployment due to what had happened, they did respond to unemployment by saying they never offer me a job nor we discussed salary, etc. Luckily I had emails from them that said the opposite. TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. IF THEY ARE WILLING TO DO THAT TO ME . THEY WILL BE WILLING TO DO THAT TO YOU.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

Because I worked for the competitor, my whole second interview was about my previous company's processes, platform info. etc. I felt they wanted to get info from me rather than getting to know me as a future employee. We also discussed my salary expectations again. Third interview was better as it was a group interview and there were more questions.

We are sorry for the misunderstanding that this candidate has. We did not make an offer to her, either written or verbally. She was a good candidate for the position, and we had hoped to hire her. She interviewed well and had the qualifications we were looking for. She was an acquaintance with someone who was already working in the same department we were hiring for, and our current employee gave her a good recommendation. She is correct in her statement that there was a timing issue with getting her a written offer. Unfortunately, during the time lag, the candidate discussed with her acquaintance (our employee), matters which should have been of a confidential nature. Those discussions caused concerns with other employees in that same department. We decided that there was too much potential for similar discussions in the future, and were worried about the effect that might have on the harmony and atmosphere within the department, and that we couldn’t ultimately make the candidate an offer of employment.
