The pre screening was fine but the actual interview process was quite confusing. The description of the role is to manage a portfolio of over 100-150 students, to liaise with all of them, to take on a high volume of call and contact but are firm on being paid only 58k a year (quite concerning especially with the current economy). For the amount of responsibility of this duty, it is nowhere competitive enoug and it could be translated that they don’t value the work if it being reflected by this lower wage. This role is similar to an accounts/retention manager position and needs to be treated as such which is inclusive of amending the salary to be realistic for the workload. Their commission structure seems very unclear and gives you the idea that you will be taking on an unhealthy amount of work for a small amount of money and no guarantee of bonus. I also was alarmed that the team wasn’t really receptive about wanting to grow and develop within the company. At this point, I did feel quite uncomfortable as I did notice the change of tone from the interviewing team after explaining I am looking for progression, a company that gives me an equal exchange of energy and that I am looking for a team to provide ample support and development. After my interview, I was confident that I did not want to proceed with the offer. If you are wanting development, then I advise to interview elsewhere. They make it abundantly clear that they want ONLY a student success advisor for the now and not concerned about the future development neither eagerness of someone that wants to commit to the company long term.

Four-step process: (1) Email screen (2) Phone screen (3) Zoom interview with two lower level managers (4) Phone interview with VP of Post Enrollment, Student and Partner Success and AD, Post Enrollment.
The overall interview experience was easy but time-consuming, and they were unable to work with my availability. Interactions were mostly positive, and I expected to be offered the job (having been told that they would be hiring four SSAs). Shortly after, the job was posted on the Keypath Education Careers site again.
