      Entrevista

      Contacted by recruiter - brief overview of role given and then the 55Q Bennet Mechanical Aptitude test (must get 65% to pass). Basic high school physics/reasoning. Then prep call with recruiter for the pre-recorded human-free video interview. Other reviews are head on, pretty awkward but basic questions (3 minutes for each question - 6 questions total). Then invited on-site for final interview in Chicago. Full Career day (really half day as you will be assigned to either the morning or afternoon session). Breakfast or lunch is provided (depending which session you are in) which is the basic spread nothing special. There were in total ~20 participants in my session. The day consists of small group activities (case study, day in life of, etc.) where you are monitored and "scored" based on your discussion/contribution. Followed by product demo (informal no ppt), sales role play, and final interview (mine was with 2 people - 1 manager/1 HR). No real difficult aspect, just a fairly long and drawn out process. During the final interview they do try to "rattle" and "stump" you by asking fairly pointed questions - like why Keyence would even be interested in someone like you (in a way that tries to challenge you head on). Ultimately, speaking as someone who studied engineering and was hoping for a blend b/n technical responsibilities and client interfacing - this role falls into 95-100% non-technical. This role should clearly define that they are searching for sales & business individuals as the role is simply consulting with customers (makings sales calls, giving product demos, emailing/in person communication with clients). 2 days in the office, 3 days in the field driving to clients. This became more clear throughout the process and by the time I had my final interview I think both me and Keyence shared the sentiment that this role was just not technical enough in nature for what I was looking for. I would advise anyone with a bkgd in engineering and looking for a more traditional engr./technical role to look elsewhere - don't be fooled by the 'Sales Engineer title'. This would have saved both Keyence and me a lot of time if they would have been upfront about the role/responsibilities versus operating with a strange secrecy throughout the process.

      Very odd, one hirevue and then they fly you out to chicago. The chicago process is smooth. One interview and roll play. Great time to practice skills and continue to get better.

      The interview process starts with an informational session. After that, you complete a digital interview assessment, and only those who pass move on to a traditional Zoom interview. There are definitely a lot of stages you have to pass to get to the final round.

      Good practice for the job, multiple stages involving phone screening with HR, meeting with director, then mock presentation and interview with manager. Make sure to practice discovery questions for the mock presentations to help you understand client needs.
