Applied to Kajabi via LinkedIn. The recruiter reached out by email, and I was easily able to schedule a 30-minute interview. The interview was over Zoom, and the recruiter was super friendly, had read my resume, and was even excited about my side project in development. We had a great conversation about Kajabi and their direction. Normally, companies proceed to a technical screen or online assessment; however, I was scheduled for a one-hour interview directly with the mobile engineering manager. The interview was friendly and easy, but they ultimately felt it wasn’t a match. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to interview with a hiring manager, as this is typically the final step. Kajabi honored my time by not putting me through multiple rounds of technical DSA questions, sample app creation, and system design exercises before first ensuring there was a culture and leadership fit. In retrospect, I may have been too candid about some of the challenges in my last position, or too opinionated by recommending 3rd party impartial manual testing despite high test coverage and automation efforts.
