Straightening my collar and smoothing out my resume for the umpteenth time, I braced myself for the manager's scrutiny. As I sat across from them, their gaze felt like a heat lamp, intensifying my anxiety. Their questions probed deep, testing my knowledge of customer service and ability to handle pressure. Despite the nerves, I plastered on a smile, hoping to convey enthusiasm and determination. Each moment felt like an eternity, yet the hope of joining the KFC team, fueled by visions of crispy chicken and golden fries, kept me anchored in the moment.
